Sept. 10, 2001 Penn sailing the Mystic Turtle into NY Harbor with a replica of Henry Hudson’s Half Moon ship that Henry sailed up the Hudson River looking for a northwest passage to China in 1609. The World Trade Center is in the background. We dock at Liberty Landing Marina for a planned week to enjoy New York City. The next morning, 9/11, the Twin Towers are attacked and start burning.
